Aspen, Colorado

A celebrity hot spot since the ‘70s, Aspen offers great skiing, top-tier dining, and luxury shopping. Planning your next adventure? Find everything you need to know in our Aspen ski resort guide—and explore all our guides for even more inspiration.

SET YOUR SIGHTS ON ASPEN

Nestled in the heart of Pitkin County, Colorado, Aspen is the ultimate destination for ski enthusiasts and adventurers alike. Home to four iconic mountains—Aspen Mountain (Ajax), Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass—this world-class region promises unparalleled skiing opportunities. Split between the charming Aspen Town and the cozy Snowmass Village, it offers the perfect balance of authentic alpine charm, luxury amenities, and vibrant après-ski scenes.

WHERE TO STAY

Sometimes, only a classic will do. Which is why the Aspen St Regis is iis our go-to when deciding where to stay when skiing in Aspen. Sitting at the base of Aspen Mountain it’s perfectly situated between the skiing and the town, with great views in an elegant-yet-cosy setting. It’s also home to a Thai-inspired wellness spa and three restaurants. We love Supper Club at The Snow Lodge, an evening that combines delicious Italian food with cocktails and live entertainment in an intimate setting, surrounded by local artwork.

For committed skiers, The Little Nell is Aspen’s only ski in, ski out hotel, with light-filled rooms and multiple options for both formal and informal dining. They do a great coffee too, if you’re ready for a pit stop. Its best feature, though, is the rooftop pool, which has incredible views of the surrounding scenery.

WHAT TO DO

For those lucky enough to enjoy a ski holiday in Aspen, there’s never a dull moment. Beyond the exceptional skiing, the area offers something for every type of traveler—whether you’re a seasoned skier or simply looking to soak up the atmosphere.

No trip is complete without an element of retail therapy. Downtown Aspen is a haven for luxury shopping, where you’ll find everything from high-end fashion to one-of-a-kind treasures. We always make time for coffee and a browse at Gorsuch, the iconic ski retailer that has been a fixture in Aspen since 1978 and proudly stocks the latest Perfect Moment pieces.

For something a little more adventurous, the Maroon Bells Mountains are a must-see. These are the most photographed peaks in North America, and with good reason—their stunning reflection in Maroon Lake is breathtaking. Hike the trails, camp under the stars, or simply take in the views.

Another unmissable experience is the Silver Queen Gondola, which whisks you to the summit of Aspen Mountain at 11,212 feet. From there, you can access over 75 ski trails or enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Sundeck Restaurant, where panoramic views make every bite more memorable.

For an unforgettable family-friendly adventure, head to T-Lazy-7 Ranch. This family-run gem offers snowmobile tours through Aspen’s snowy backcountry, as well as summer horseback riding and fly-fishing experiences.

With so much to do in Aspen, the only challenge is fitting it all into one trip.

WHERE TO EAT

Aspen’s culinary scene is almost as famous as its ski slopes and there are a string of incredible restaurants to choose from. Catch Steak offers a taste of New York, bringing the classic steakhouse to a ski setting. Go for the menu, stay for the vibes.

Founded by the iconic Chef Nobu, Matsuhisa is Japanese dining at its very best. Tucked away inside a 120-year-old Victorian House in downtown Aspen, its understated elegance is an ideal environment after a day on the slopes. Plus, if you’re a Nobu regular you’ll recognise some of their signature dishes on the menu.

WHERE TO APRÈS-SKI

It’s no secret that we love après, but first, coffee. Always. Pre-ski, head to Gorsuch Ski Cafe, it’s right on the edge of town and does great coffee and matcha.

Aspen’s après scene is a little less infamous than some of its European counterparts, but there are still some great spots to try. Our top pick is Swiss-inspired Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro on Highlands Mountain–an Aspen hot spot since the 1970s only accessible by skis or snowboards. Go for the raclette, and stay for the post-lunch dance party.

A new addition to Aspen’s après scene, Buck has quickly become a favourite spot for casual diners and late-night revellers alike. It’s a matter of minutes on foot from Aspen Mountain Ski Resort, offering up tasty meals till midnight and drinks until 2am.

WHAT TO WEAR

Aspen’s dress code, often referred to as ‘Aspen Casual,’ blends practical functionality with elevated style, making it the perfect destination for showcasing elevated skiwear. With its unpredictable weather and freezing temperatures, dressing appropriately is essential.

Our new chevron pieces are a perfect match for skiing in Aspen. Featuring bold striping in striking red, navy, and white, this lineup is designed to stand out against the snowy backdrop. Not only is the vibrant red to look at, but it also enhances ski safety by increasing visibility in low-light conditions.

Crafted with water-resistant materials and designed for maximum performance, these pieces ensure you stay warm and dry, whether tackling powder runs or relaxing après-ski. Explore Chevron Polar Flare Jacket, Queenie Ski Pants, and other ski-friendly essentials to elevate your Aspen wardrobe.

For those après moments, the collection seamlessly transitions from slope to chalet, embodying the perfect balance of fashion and function. Discover more in our après-ski edit and gear up for an unforgettable Aspen adventure.
