Directly translating to ‘after ski’, it’s different all over the world and down to you how you choose to partake, as long as you unwind and have fun. For us (après aficionados), it’s a major element of every trip, with a major wardrobe to match.

Our four-step guide to mastering the art of après-ski.

1. Identify your après-ski personality

   Do you prefer a scenic view, excellent soundtrack, old fashioned in hand? Or hot chocolate by the fire in head-to-toe knitwear?

2. Choose between long or short haul

   A daily decision. Will you be dancing mountain-side until the early hours, grabbing a quick drink at the bar before dinner or taking an après-ski-all-day approach?

France’s elegant resorts are ideal for those who like a more refined après-ski experience. A seat on the terrace at Le Tremplin in Courchevel 1850 is the perfect place to unwind, glass of champagne in hand. With eight different locations across Europe, La Folie Douce has become an après-ski institution. Our preferred location is the Chamonix outpost, which doubles up as a hotel.
